i'm wishing for a white road trip.

it is cold and grey and a little snowy outside, but i don't mind. it's the first snap of winter, and i'm willing to be enamoured with it for about a day. it's not like i had to dig my truck out or anything. i just put added my scarf and my vest and my jacket and my arm warmers and my boots and my knee-high socks to my regular apparel, kept my fingers close to my soy mocha, and i was good to go. although i have to warn you, winter: when you last for more than a day, you're not going to be cute anymore.

my boss is out of town, and one of my good good friends comes into town today. i'm excited. i like my boss, but if she's not here than i will have time to take care of larger projects without getting interrupted. i realise it's a little awkward that i get excited about things like organizing my desk area, but that's the way it is. and visitors are just the best. they give you an excuse to stay up too late and not do laundry and not buy groceries, which maybe you hadn't been doing anyway.

i talked to the little old lady who is my second boss, and she okayed me to go to california for christmas and see my parents. so i bought my tickets yesterday! i'm very glad. my parents live in northern california now, and i don't think i've ever been there. and my sister is flying with me, which should be neat. and it will be good to be with my family at Christmas. and carly will be here when i return! hurraaaaaah, more visitors! no laundry!

i don't think anyone at my office wants to know how often i use my desk scissors to cut my hair.

i have been disappointed by yet another gym that told me one thing and then changed its mind. i did end up with a couple free guess passes, however, which should hopefully tide me over until i'm not mad at the first gym anymore.

the weekends between now and Christmas are going to be busy. i guess that's how it always is, though. i'm glad i'm not in charge of theatre right now. but we do have cards to print and sell, and i have some sewing projects i'd like to work on, and a short film to shoot, and a birthday party and a bacholerette party and probably at least one Christmas party to attend, and apparently i need to read Ulysses. and thanksgiving's in there somewhere too. and i'm going into the mountains with one of my friends to help her chop down some trees for charity. and i guess i need to put a tree in the elevator at some point. Christmas trees are nice; but, all the same, i wish it could be a giant papier-mâché tree instead. maybe next year.

i love fake real writers group and bridestone small group. ...i'm just sayin'. yesterday was also a good day because my vitamins came in the mail. man, do i love vitamins. i have no committment problems with vitamins. between vitamins, plane tickets, and warm warm weather, yesterday was just a win/win/win sort of day. oh, and the frambozen. so win/win/win/win, i guess. that's quite the accomplishment - congratulations, wednesday.

just promise me that you'll do some laundry in between your first visitor and second visitor. because if not, i think your second visitor... ahem... me... will get the fuzzy end of that lollipop.
also, love the double office-quote-like references in your final paragraph.

i will try to do laundry. and possibly even clean the floor of my room so that you can get to the bed without hopping? who knows, it could get crazy!
